Rock climbing near Cullen – Tuesday 12 April

Pete looking carefully to each step, I ran away!

I tried to go climbing with two good friends, Pete Amphlett and Dan Carrol, unfortunately the cliff was full of nesting sea gulls so we left for another crag. The descent was very steep with my weak knee and I did not feel up to it,so I gave it a miss and enjoyed a wander round the cliffs near Cullen. Dan and Pete enjoyed 3 climbs on superb red granite. Highlight of the day was seal with a fish being mobbed by gulls in the sea! A lovely part of Scotland the temperatures were recorded at 23 degrees, normal in April is 12!

Mountain biking this week, with a good friend Sue and Mike and Amy, they will scare me no doubt, then off for a few days Munro bagging with my friend Martin Frew who has only a few Munros left to do.

10 years ago we were on Everest and in Katmandu sorting out kit for the main team arriving from UK. After this was done we then planneda three-week tek in the Annapurna area, to get ready for Everest.  This was an incredible journey.  The expedition nearly did not get off the ground as all our kit was held in Katmandu airport due to a strike. It took some careful handling (and bribes) to get our equipment out.
