Psychovertical – a great read! By Andy Kirkpatrick- Well done Al On last Munro!

‘Psychovertical is a powerful if intensely personal book, well written, sometimes brilliantly so. It charts Kirkpatrick’s fractured upbringing and subsequent escape to a life of extreme climbing and close calls… He is a clear, spare writer, and a highly visual one. The descriptions of climbing are among the best I’ve ever read… Kirkpatrick chooses words with the same care that he chooses a wire.’

The book above is written by Andy Kirkpatrick who is Pete Kirkpatricks son my friend and fellow golfer from the RAF. Pete was also a RAF MR Teamleader at Valley and Kinloss. His son is a world reknowned climber who lives up near Inverness and what a speaker and lecturer . His book is incredible a bit out of the normal mountaineering book and would advise you to purchase a copy!

I am off golfing for the Hopeman Seniors at Aford a fun day out. I had a great weekend getting sorted out after my golf week and enjoyed some great football on the tv. The weather is superb today so it should be a great day out. Congratulations to Al Barnyard for completting his Munros on Beinn Na Lap near Corrour, I hear he had a great family party at the Youth Hostel.

Al Barnyard on Chairmens Choice on An Teallach 1999 before he became a Munro bagger!

I got some photos of my wee grandaughter this weekend what a lovely wee lass and growing up so fast. I must sort out some time down South to see her. I spent some time with friends and there kids this Sunday what a great time, oh to be young again!
