Yesterday Chalky & Colleen his lovely wife arrived for a flying visit, they are over from Canada and came all the way up to visit me in Burghead. They had been in the UK for two weeks, Chalky is a big wheel in rope access offshore in Newfoundland and was over in UK at a conference in England. We managed to get hold of Taff Harries who also works offshore in the North Sea and was heading home and managed to stop overnight, we picked him up from Elgin. Chalky and Taff had not seen each other for several years and we had a great crack last night. Before Taff arrived Chalky and Colleen enjoyed a great wee walk round the “estate” with me , unfortunately there were no dolphins but great views and the heritage centre was open and well worth the visit. It has been recently been done up and is a great addition to the village.
We stopped of at Wendy house near Elgin and had a flying visit, both Chalky and Taff knew Eric well and Wendy had a fun visit enjoying the stories. Due to work they had not made the funeral of Wendy’s husband Eric and it was special that they saw Wendy. After that we went to Findhorn for a meal, it was a lovely night then back to the wee house for more stories and tales. Poor Colleen seemed to enjoy it but left us to chat late into the night, lots of war stories. It is great to see old friends and I was in the Kinloss Team with them both and when they left they both settled in Glencoe and joined the Glencoe MRT. Taff is now moving to the North West with Kalli his partner who unfortunately did not make the trip last night and I hope to see them next week.
