How winter should be at Meall Nan Tarmigan Killin!
Wet and windy Ayr but still good to be with family and after church I am off to church at my fathers old Church in Ayr. After that it is a great meal with all the trimmings at one of my sisters. I received a great wind up present of wood, coal, matches and firelighters from Eleanor and Fergus who I am staying with and have looked after me so well. Ayr is a place of memories as this is where I grew up and what a place to live with the beach and plenty of room to play on. I was a bit of a wild child but it is still a special place with the view of Arran and the bonnie wee Carrick Hills in the distance. I went down to the harbour yesterday, spray everywhere and the tide full in a wild place, it was far better than the crowds in the shops, I was not there for long!
Christmas presents of coal, wood and firelighters for the cold far North!
Tomorrow I will travel back after the Ayr United V Raithrovers game at Somerset Park in Ayr, a real relegation battle and a place where I followed Ayr for many years. The ground is still the worst in UK with 1950 terracing and falling to bits but what memories of watching Ayr beat all the big teams like Rangers & Celtic in the 70’s under the late great Ally Mc Leod. It will be a real treat to see the match tomorrow.
- Happy Christmas to every one.
Well that is all, it can be a lonely time for some so make someones day, phone or call and have a chat, we cannot be everywhere but do not forget those faraway. Christmas for all its faults is for the kids hopefully they will enjoy it as it is a special time.
