Chantilly Falls – nearly 30 years on.

Chantilly Falls

The weather has been so good I had to go out even though I was full of the flu, it was such a great day. We were heading for Kaninaskis about 45 minutes from Canmore, The boys picked me up at 0800 , I was feeling lousy but had to go. We arrived and it was pretty cold minus 12 – Dan, Ian and Geoff shot of to climb Moonlight a classic line and Ned and me had a walk down memory lane on Chantilly falls. We had climbed this fine wee climb nearly 30 years ago. It was a great walk in but bitter cold and Ned took it easy and we had a cracking chat on the way in, Even though it was bitter cold it was  a great walk through the forest to the creek where the climb is.

There were one other pair on the route but we did not get in the way so we had a fun two pitch climb in stunning weather and then a wee abseil of the route. The climb is fairly easy but such a beautiful place to be we both enjoyed it. I was still feeling pretty rough but it was so good to be out. I have done this climb a few times and may not get back to Canada again so it was a great day and place to be with so many memories.

After we abseiled off we enjoyed the sun Ned went off to see how the boys were getting on and I walked out slowly enjoying the great views and peace and solitude of another great day in Canada,
