Heading off today to Kintail on the West Coast with the Moray Mountaineering Club to Morvich for the New Year we will have to wait and see what the weather brings. This is another great area with superb hills and It would be special to get the odd hill done I will just have to see what happens,just being in such a place will be amazing. I started with the RAF Kinloss Team in 1972 my first weekend was at Kintail in winter, it was an amazing experience in early winter January and what a place to start.
I was looking through some old magazines and found this incredible advertisement. Imagine getting a days climbing with some of the names below in 1965! Imagine how much you could charge! Sadly many are not with us now, Tom Patey, Dougal Haston, John Cunningham , John Harlin Rusty Ballie and Jim Moriarity what a talented group. For those who do not know who these names are just look them up on the internet, you will be amazed. I do not know if I will get a signal for the blog over the New Year if I can I will try to update it. Have a happy and safe New Year.
