Some memories of my trip to the USA in 2008 when I was doing some lectures and also managed 3 weeks in Yosemite with SAR Team. It was a trip of a lifetime with some incredible adventures and fun.
The home of John Muir was a wonderful place full of wildlife and places of great beauty. I was away early most days to miss the heat and at the top of Yosemite Falls I met these crazy guys crossing the Falls,, Base Jumpers and some incredible characters that make this a special place to be.
I was over working with a friend who teaches at Unity College in Maine USA ( Americas first Environmental College) and spent a great 3 weeks there. It was an incredible journey and I learned so much from this adventure, hugely differing views on politics, guns all in the same College. My trip ended with being the keynote speaker at the USA – Mountain Rescue Conference in Stowe Vermount.
A magic trip in so many ways, I met the Yosemite SAR and stayed with them it was an interesting time and was impressed by there skill and great company.
