Christmas Black Friday

I was appalled to see the fighting in the shops for so called bargains on Black Friday we seem to have lost the plot! How many involved really needed all those bargains and how we fall into the consumer trap like sheep thank you America!

Nowadays Christmas for many is a time when some people go crazy about what presents their cost and we seem to have forgot what Christmas is about?

It should be a special time for children and a time where we visit and spend time with those we love and care about.

I was lucky to have many Happy Christmases when I was young money was very tight in a family of 5 kids. I never got the bike I wanted every year until I did a paper run at 12 years old and paided for it myself. It did me no harm so please have a think about what it is all about. Let’s make it a special time for the little people to have fun and keep the presents sensible and have a thought for those do not have as much as we do!

Maybe send a few pounds to a charity of your choice!

Maybe Black Friday madness will not happen next year?

  1. I am so glad that I am not alone in my horror, when I saw films on the internet on black Friday.I guess the name fits that day quite well. I did not go shopping at any department stores in protest of mass consumerism.

  2. Reblogged this on sliceofheaveninsweden and commented:
I heard a Christmas commercial on the radio this weekend. A woman and her son go shopping to a major shopping center in Stockholm. The woman left her child at the toy store while she did her shopping. When she finally returns her son now has a deep voice but the emotionally maturity of the child she had left behind. She comments on how large her son has grown. He is begging for a turtle….

The message is that once your there shopping you forget your children, job and life. The only thing you want is the shopping experience… I hope that others here in Sweden really listen to this commercials message.
