Late blog as I was at the Moray Mountaineering Club AGM. The club is a great bunch of keen walkers and mountaineers and is going well, this is due to the hard work of the Committee. It has a Bus meet most months of the year, midweek climbing on local crags or walls and monthly weekend Meets all over Scotland. It may be worth a look of the website to see what the club is up to. It is a great way to meet new friends and we are always looking for new members.
I was asked to do a slide show after the AGM finished and the Annual Photo competition results were eagerly judged. It was amazing to see what great shots the club members had taken in the past year. I did a chat mainly about trips abroad and my memories were awakened of past great trips. How lucky have I been?
My early days of the big Walks across Scotland and the pain and suffering involved all seem many years away! Over 30 but what days of great wanders throughout Scotland, learning so much about Scotland this incredible land and people. I mentioned John Hinde who was also a member of the MMC and and ex RAF Team Leader and Outdoor Instructor a man of great knowledge and love of Scotland and a mentor of many.
It was a good night and I enjoyed seeing some slides from past years in the Alps and greater Ranges and hope the crowd enjoyed it. How I miss the hills, this is a long, long recovery and cannot wait to get out on the hills.
