Enough Driving – maybe get a wee hill done and then the chat to the Mountain Bothies Association.

It was a great drive back from Ayr once I got away from the fog in Glasgow and into the sun past Stirling and up into the hills. The weather is stunning and the hills looked so inviting but I had lots to do so I had to go back home to get on with some administration after being away for a few days. It is all go at this time of year with the MBA chat after their AGM in Newtonmore tomorrow.

From Davy Walker

“Have you read the book Heavy? Pity it came out after Phoebe Smith’s Book of the Bothy (Burghead Library has a copy). I only say that as all preceeds for the MBA book will go to the MBA. Sure you’ll enjoy your talk tonight. If you wish to leave a food for thought comment Garbh Chorie the future. Rather political issue as the NTS (Mar Lodge) are reluctant to support it being rebuilt. The MBA quite correctly are not pressing the issue as the working relationship with Mar Lodge is of great importance”

I will have to see what tomorrow brings and will get out at least for a walk and get some fresh air its been a busy week but this weather is incredible.

I was listening to the news yesterday and it is very hard to believe that the Skye Bridge is 20 years old now. I remember  all the times fondly that I used the ferry to get over to Skye in the past we even got the odd special ferry on callouts. Things always change and the Bridge is great for the community but has some of the mystery of Skye gone?
