Can anyone out there help
I’m after your knowledge and contacts and blog to try help out.
When I moved in to my house near Dufftown I managed to get a photo of a
Scottish Wildcat in my steading. I’ve been in contact with Scottish Wildcat
Action who are now about to embark on a Wildcat study in several areas,
Strathavon, Strathpeffer, Morven, Angus Glen, Northern Strathspey and
Strathbogie. They are looking for volunteers to adopt a 1km square area,
and deploy a wildlife camera and lure post for a period of 60 days starting
Dec/Jan. The cameras would need checked fortnightly during this period. All
training is provided on the cameras, how to set them up and report findings.
There was an estimate of approximately 500 Scottish Wildcats left, making
it an extremely endangered species. A lot of these area are out in the
countryside and would require walking to the cameras. If you feel you can
take on more than one camera then all the better, I’m looking after 3 cameras.
For further information and to volunteer please contact Roo Campbell,
Roo.Campbell@snh.gov.uk their website is www.scottishwildcataction.org
I think those who you know and read your blog would be ideal candidates for this project.
