There is nothing more important than quality time with those you love and care for.

These are sad days with the UK in turmoil after the Referendum and the tragedy in Turkey a place and a people I love. At times you feel what next yet there is so much good about. I have been visiting a good pal in Inverness who after her Cancer operation is getting radiography after months of Chemotherapy.  She is a incredible person and is hopefully well on the way to recovery and has just finished her treatment yesterday! During this period I have been visiting and in contact with her often and met so many great people all involved in the care of cancer patients. The Maggie Centre in Inverness is an incredible place where care and love abound, in these troubled times we are still surrounded by so many good and caring people. The staff and volunteers make life so special and give me faith in humanity. What a place of peace and for families to have a break and someone to talk to if you need it.

The Maggie Centre Inverness. A specail place of care and humanity can you help.

I met two old pals in the Maggie  Centre with their wives both Mountain Rescue Troops from the past. They are also suffering from Cancer and are so strong and fighting hard surrounded by care and love. What they said was they were so glad of the support and care especially from their old mates and this they said helps all the family through these tough times.  These are men who rarely show motion and yet the care has touched them. Maybe you have a pal friend who is ill or lonely  or needs a call or a visit, do not put it off, it will make a difference. We all can make time to help?

The NHS is an incredible service, like us it has flaws but the care we get is amazing, we must do what we can to ensure we still have it in years to come. I have seen so much sadness in the news in this crazy world yet 90% of people are caring for their fellow man and women. Life is short and we can all make a difference and even though its hard at times life goes on and true friendship and love shine through.

God bless all those who care for others and we can all do our bit to help, hopefully you will now make that call or visit that family member, friend or old pal. My thoughts are with my step – daughter Yvette who is off to visit a friend in Australia who is suffering from cancer and I am proud of her love and care and wish her a safe trip and Jane a speedy recovery.   I will be thinking of you both. xxx

The sun is out and its time for a walk.

Maybe some thoughts today for all of us?

Well said. I too have reason to be grateful to the NHS and to friends visiting me in hospital. I think it’s just crazy that any government thinks it’s a good idea to cut funding, or to privatise the NHS. The idea of a universal and free to use, funded by taxes, service is the only fair way to offer health care.
