Long days driving but worth it so many special folk to see.

It was a long day I was driving South via an old friend and then to my sisters in Ayr! It was an early start and I went via a snowless Glencoe on a dark morning !

Snowless Glencoe 2016 Dec 17

It was very quite leaving at 0600 and I stopped in Crianlarich to see Elma Scott an old friend of RAF Mountain Rescue she was in great form! I had a great catch up dropped of some flowers and supplies and had a great spread as always of soda scones, pancakes , cakes and tea! Elma has been so good to the RAF Mountain Rescue over the years and it was great to catch up she was looking great and has nearly 100 cards many from Mountain Rescue who she looks after still! Aunty Elma what a lady.

Afternoon light at Prestwick Arran hidden from view!

After break it was on to Prestwick to visit my sisters and take a short break. It had been a sad year for our family this year as I lost Jenifer one of my sisters and Fergus my eldest sisters Eleanor’s  husband.  It is hard to go back  and  I miss them both I was only there for a short time as  I will be back to spend Christmas in Ayr with the family.

It was good to get a few hours break catch up and then head of after a catnap to the Grandkids! It is a long 45 minutes to the M74 and you pass Glenbuck where the great Liverpool manager was born Bill Shankly. It was to dark to stop today but what a man! This was miners country in the past and now all gone! It was then on to a quiet M74 past Lockerbie that huge place in my life then the M6!

Wish I had seen this before !

Schedule : Expect disruption everyday between 20:00 and 06:00 from 20 December 2016 to 22 December 2016. Location : The M6 southbound between junctions J16 and J15 . Lanes Closed : There will be two of three lanes closed. Reason : Roadworks are planned.

The journey was another 8 hours due to heavy fog and the Motorway diversions but I made it at 0800 to be met by  the magic of the girls and a huge cuddle ! They were up and I got a tandem cry of Grandpa it made me smile ! I love these kids xxxxxx

Now I am in the land of Pepa Pig and the Gruffallo!

Enjoy you Christmas with the kids. Just spoke to Elma who was on great form. Take care on those UK roads. Love from us both.
