Going Home after #RideforReuben – Thanks to all for your support and over £10000 raised.

I am in Inverness after another long day and the great adventure is nearly over and all we have to do is get Yvette, Dave, Lexi and Ellie Skye home via the airport. The van has been returned and all the stuff sorted from the “Ride to John 0’Groats. We had a long drive from Thurso yesterday in thick mist for about an hour and so glad the bike journey was over for them as visibility was only a few feet. It was then back to Inverness for part of the way. We then Sorted out the van picked up my car and then had a small party at the Bulcrew Hotel near Inverness that was some place .

We caught up with a few friends and the girls enjoyed a break inbetween showers and thunder it was a great afternoon with friends for the #RideforReuben team. What a spread of food and the high tea was incredible in the Hotel.

The incredible High Tea at the Hotel amazing.

After an long afternoon we left the amazing Hotel in a downpour and back to our Hotel in Inverness for a meal in the Snowgoose  and then for me catch up with some sleep!

It has been some trip huge effort and I left them all for much needed sleep to hear of another atrocity in London what an awful World we live in and yet what an effort to help a small sick child it all makes you think? How far have we come as a World where “man’s inhumanity to man “is so tragic?

In the end I can make no logic of any of it and we just have to think of the great people we have met their kindness and the effort that Yvette and team have done for Reuben!

I will be sad to drop them off at the airport at Inverness and then get sorted 10 days of being away comes at a cost and I could sleep for a week. Thanks for all your help and support and words throughout and for all the effort by Yvette,Dave and Daniel.

For me to watch someone you love on a bike close up for over 750 miles looking so vulnerable in traffic.

in traffic I admit it scared me to death and I found that hard to watch. Please when you see a bike give them space and take care when overtaking them  ! I am so glad it is over and all are safe and well. The photos do not do justice to the effort put in exhaustion and fatigue took over limits were pushed !
Thank you all and there is still so much good in the world.
