Drive through Artic Scotland to Ayr then off to Lockerbie and the South

Yesterday I was away early after the gritters were out? Heading for Ayr to see my sisters . The main roads were fine and clear going over the Dave Moor was stunning with the Cairngorms plastered, my thoughts were wanting to be up in the hills. I had planned a stop at Ballinuig but the road was closed due to a broken down lorry. Yet the views were great the hills looking superb and lots of snow about. The ice was forming roadside on the rocks and I would imagine that the ice climbers are having fun? This is an early start to winter this year.

I got a bit of weather heading to Glasgow with sleet but no views of Arran and it was raining in Ayr. We had a quick walk to the shops and then an night of catching up. It is good to see everyone and the weather had been pretty cold in Ayr over the last few days.

Today I head for Lockerbie for a meeting then next day travel South, lots of memories . I will be going via some of my old Ayrshire haunts after seeing my Brother in Law play Santa for some kids. That will be a sight.
