Thanks – A near death experience! Not the way to go lying on the pavement outside the Co Op!

Yesterday I had an epic while watching the football in the afternoon after a walk on the beach. I started coughing then choking and was struggling to breathe! I tried to clear the obstruction  (not easy on your own)but could not and was nearly passing out ! As I live on my own  I was struggling for breath and I  just got outside and lucky just as I collapsed  it was just outside the local shop! I think I managed to say I was choking before I hit the deck right outside the shop. In my state of confusion it was not easy but a real nightmare, I thought I do not want to die outside the Co – op in public!

Thanks to all who helped clear the obstruction and the ambulance crew who checked me out ! I am sure it was gunge from my Sinus problem in my throat and my rib injury do not help as my throat and the mucus is hard to clear!  Laying on the pavement was not funny what I remember but I was well looked after. Even a few saying that I was a good guy, I was not in a good place.

I am okay now and thankful for everyone’s help and I live another day! Off to the Doctors again but at least I am still here. Thanks again all. – This is not my year it seems, another life gone nearly? After climbing all around the world and a few epics that felt close and very scary.

You never know what is round the corner?

Thanks all.

ake a look at this video on YouTube:

It made me think if you live on your own no matter how fit you are its worth thinking about how you would cope with an emergency. It made me re – look at certian things with – opened eyes.

Many thanks for all the kindness and love, it helps a lot.

  1. Glad you’re okay Heavy. Not the sort of place you expect to have a brush with death!

Phew, quite frightening, had anaphylactic shock when I worked in Indonesia, fortunately I was in the camp clinic. Discovered I was allergic to penicillin!

Menthol crystals from the pharmacy is great to clear out the sinuses and tubes. Use it when I get bunged up with the cold. Glad you are okay Norman
