Boys away to Cairngorms – maybe Lurcher’s Crag envious?

Lurchers in great conditions.

Lurchers in great conditions.

Pete was sorting out his gear for most of the night and was away early with the “Oily boys” ( Jimmy and Al) to have a look at Rothiemurcus and Lurchers Crag. I am still no way near even walking in and had a sore day yesterday. The weather was wild even at the coast and the snow falling heavily on the mountains will mean the boys will have to take care. Lurcher’s overlooks the Lairg Ghru on the flank. It is a broken rambling cliff but can hold good ice and I place we used a lot for Mountain Rescue winter course skills. It is away from the honey pot Northern Corries and a lovely walk in. The Avalanche hazard is high after the storm so care in choice of routes is very important.

I will just have to head over to the golf club as the weather looks okay and hit a few balls at least I am getting out most days only 3 – months to go.
