I am off to the North West with mates Dan and Pete heading for Beinn Eighe the Scottish Avalanche Information Service (SAIS) for Torridon now runs all week another great bit of information have you had a look?

Snow Stability & Avalanche Hazard

Areas of unstable windslab will persist in sheltered locations on East to Southerly aspects above 650m. Other aspects in wind sheltered locations will also be affected due to cross loading. Cornices will continue to develop above steep lee slopes. Single point avalanches are likely on steep South-West to South-East facing slopes if exposed to the sun for any length of time. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Forecast Weather Influences

Freezing at all levels during the night and rising to around 300m during the day. Showers dying out. North-North -Westerly winds will ease to around 10-15 mph over summits by dawn and become Westerly before backing South-Westerly at the end of the period.
